DHAKA, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS)- The Election Commission (EC) has directed divisional commissioners, regional election officers, all district administrators and returning officers to appoint polling officers from neighboring upazilas for the 13th National Parliament elections.

A notification  in this regard signed today by Mohammad Monir Hossain, Deputy Secretary (Election Management-2 Branch) of the EC Secretariat,.

It stated, “The 13th National Parliament Election will be held on February 12, 2026. Relevant organizations have already been given to finalize the panel of polling officers on December 18, 2025, as per the policy set for the election.”

 In light of the policy, in case of finalizing the panel of polling officers, if there is no polling officer in the concerned upazila, the Election Commission has given permission to appoint such polling officers from the neighboring/nearby upazilas (under their respective districts), the notification added.  

The notification said, “A request is hereby made to take necessary action in accordance with the decision.”
