BRUR receives IT Training, Incubation Center for management

RANGPUR, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has received the IT Training and Incubation Center established in Pirganj upazila from the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority for management and operation. 
 
The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority in a simple ceremony handed over the responsibility of the IT Training and Incubation Center located in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur to BRUR Registrar Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid on Sunday.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of BRUR Professor Dr Md Mizanur Rahman and Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Kamlesh Chandra Roy were present at the time. 

Officials from the Department of Engineering and Technology and other departments of the university and other concerned persons were present in the ceremony. 

By operating the center under BRUR management, students of the northern region, local youth and entrepreneurs interested in innovative work will get opportunities for information technology-based training, research and innovation. 

Through this, the center will play an important role in local economic development, employment generation and creating skilled human resources in the technology sector. 

Talking to BSS, BRUR Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali said that his university was given the responsibility to operate this center located in Pirganj, the birthplace of martyr Abu Sayeed, a pioneer of the July Revolution. 

Earlier on November 25, 2025, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and BRUR for the transfer of the IT Training and Incubation Center in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur to BRUR for its management and operation. 

"We received the responsibility of running the center today as per that agreement," he said.
