
DHAKA, Dec 13, 2021 (BSS) - Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Gowher Rizvi today underscored the need for taking up the concerted initiative to uphold human rights.
He was addressing as the chief guest a seminar arranged by non-profit organization Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Agargaon here marking Human Rights Day.
Mentioning that the government has huge achievements in different sectors, Rizvi said the government would have to work further in some areas to uphold human rights.
He said not only the matter of insufficiency but also Bangladesh’s achievements should be presented at home and abroad.
MJF Executive Director Shahin Anam chaired the function while British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson, Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexandra Berg, Swiss Ambassador in Dhaka Nathalie Chuard, and NGO Affairs Bureau Director-General KM Tariqul Islam and former adviser to a caretaker government Rasheda K Chowdhury.
Aroma Dutta, MP and former adviser to a caretaker government Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman also expressed solidarity in the seminar.
