DHAKA, Dec 12, 2021 (BSS) - Students and teachers of Dhaka University today brought out a victory rally on the campus marking the birth centenary of the university as well as the Victory Day of country’s independence. 

As part of the 16-day centenary celebration, students, Teachers, officials and staffs from residential halls and academic buildings led by vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman started to gather on the premises of Aparajeyo Bangla at around 10 am. Wearing the centennial t-shirt,  they brought out a procession from the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla that ended at the Central Shaheed Minar after parading key points of the university.

Marking the centenary celebration, a concert was also organised in the evening at the central field of the university, where prominent singers and bands of the country performed. 

DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Dr Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed,  deans of different faculties, provosts of different halls, and chairman and directors of different departments and institutes took part in the procession.
