JCD leader Shahin takes responsibility of Ratna’s higher education

SATKHIRA, Oct 29, 2025(BSS) - Local Poura Chhatra Dal leader Md Shahin has taken the educational responsibilities of poor meritorious student Ratna Khatun and ensured her admission to Satkhira Government Women’s College today.

Shahin Islam, member secretary of Satkhira Poura Chhatra Dal along with Ratna Khatun went to the college today and completed the formalities for her admission to the first year honours of Islamic History Department of the college. He arranged all necessary papers and money for the admission and assured Ranta of his cooperation in future for her higher education.

Ratna passed her SSC and HSC examinations from Dapol Star Poura High School and Safurennesa Women’s Degree College defying her mother’s severe illness and limitless poverty. But, her higher education was stuck up recently due to extreme poverty despite getting chance for admitting to the first year honours at Islamic History Department to Satkhira Government Women’s College.

Being informed, Shahin Islam took the educational responsibilities of Ratna and arranged her admission to the college. Among others, JCD leaders Tamim Rashid, Mohiuddin Quraish, Saiful Islam and Sohan were accompanied with Shahin during the completion of admission of Ratna at the college.

In her reaction, Ratna said, ‘I am very happy to get admitted to the college for higher education and expressing my unlimited gratitude to those who stood by me and my family”.

“We should stand by the side of poor and meritorious students for ensuring their higher education,” Shahin said and urged the affluent people of the town to come forward in this regard.

Rahima Begum, mother of Ratna, has been suffering from leprosy for a long time and already lost her 10 fingers of both hands and three fingers of a leg. Her husband left them many years ago.
