DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Ambassador (retd) Supradip Chakma today said the government will digitalize 100 educational institutions in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) by November this year.

 “There is no alternative but development in the CHT region. The government is actively working towards ensuring quality education and livelihood development across the region,” he said.

 The adviser made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest the ‘Kathin Chibar Dan-2025’, one of the most significant religious festivals of the Buddhist community, held at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Monastery in Mirpur in the city, said a press release.

 Supradip Chakma expressed optimism that the digital activities would be completed within the stipulated time, noting that multimedia classrooms have already been launched in most locations.

 The adviser stressed that quality education is highly essential for sustainable development in the CHT.

Beyond education, Supradip Chakma highlighted the critical importance of improving the quality of life for the local population, describing it as indispensable. 
 He noted the potential of the region's youth, stating they are already performing well and will achieve even greater success if provided with sufficient opportunities.

 The adviser acknowledged that standard projects have not yet been adopted in the CHT. 

Consequently, he instructed relevant officials to adopt schemes that are realistic and livelihood-based.

It is anticipated that proper initiatives aimed at socio-economic improvement will play a crucial role in generating employment and stimulating the local economy, he added.

Regarding project financing, he confirmed that a sum of Taka 530 crore allocated for the CHT has already been appropriately distributed among the concerned parties. 
 
Furthermore, he detailed that 40% of the total allocation will be spent specifically on livelihood development.

The adviser concluded by strongly emphasizing the essential need for the proper use of these project funds.
