KHULNA, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim said artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming human life and technological systems worldwide.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a seminar titled "Innovation with AI," held at the Smart Classroom of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Discipline in Academic Building No. 1 of KU on Saturday afternoon.
The event was organized by the university's Innovation Club as part of the Inventum 4.0 program.
"AI represents a form of intelligence that allows machines to simulate human thinking and decision-making, delivering faster and more accurate results. In the future, AI will drive development, innovation, and creativity," the VC said.
Prof Dr. Rezaul Karim also highlighted KU's aim to equip students with skills relevant to current times.
He said the university plans to introduce AI-focused courses and training across all disciplines and gradually build a culture of AI-based education and research.
Prof Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, Acting Registrar of KU, attended the seminar as the special guest, while Prof Dr. G. M. Atikur Rahman of the CSE Discipline delivered the keynote speech.
Associate Prof Md. Enamul Haque of the Business Administration Discipline also spoke on the occasion.
Chironjeet Pal, President of the Innovation Club, presided over the event. Asha Akter, Vice-President of the club, gave the welcome address, while Shyamali Nandi of Agrotechnology and Arnav Kundu of Statistics jointly conducted the session.
At the end of the program, the VC handed over certificates and medals to winners of the Idea Hunting and Article Writing competitions held under the Inventum 4.0 initiative.
