DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 308 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 115 were reported in Barishal division (excluding city corporation area) while 85 in Chattogram division (excluding city corporation area), 47 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 40 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 21 patients were hospitalized in the different hospitals in Mymensingh division, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of dengue cases rose to 53,193, while 224 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported this year. 

During the same 24-hour period, 310 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country after receiving treatment.

Last year, 1,01,214 people were infected with dengue and 575 deaths were recorded, the statement added.
