AL rally in city Dec 18 on Bangabandhu's birth centenary

     DHAKA, Dec 1, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Awami League will bring out a colourful rally in the city on December 18 marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of country's Independence. 

     "Awami League will bring out the colourful rally from Shikha Chirantan of Suhrawardi Uddayan to Dhanmondi Road no-32 on December 18," said party general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaildul Quader told journalists after a meeting with the mayors of Dhaka south and north cities and MPs elected from different constituencies of Dhaka city today.

    Besides, the ruling party will also observe different programmes throughout December, the month of victory, he said.

    Quader said if BNP tries to create anarchy in the country in the name of movement, it will be deal with on the street. 

     "BNP is trying to wage movement centering the treatment of its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia . . . actually they have no concerns about her treatment, they want to make it an issue for movement," said the ruling party general secretary.

    He urged the party leaders-workers to remain alert about BNP's activities as it killed people by launching arson attacks in the name of movement in the past.

     AL presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Abdur Rahman and joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Dhaka south city mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Dhaka north city mayor Atiqul Islam, AL organizing secretaries BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam, office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and deputy office secretary Sayem Khan were present, among others.
