Two-day International Research Conference begins at RU

RAJSHAHI, Sept 6, 2025 (BSS)- A two-day International Research Conference 2025 began at Rajshahi University (RU) today featuring a variety of events aimed at showcasing research across multiple disciplines.

Rajshahi University Education Club (RUEC) has been hosting the conference for the first time to present their work and share ideas on transforming societies through groundbreaking research.

RUEC, a platform for researchers, scholars and innovators from around the world, organised the event at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium with the theme of "Advancing Knowledge and Innovation across Disciplines for Social Transformation".

Ultimately, the event will provide a platform for global scholars and researchers to present and discuss cutting-edge research, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, generate actionable knowledge for creating inclusive and just societies, and promote social transformation through innovation and knowledge exchange across various disciplines. 
 
RU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest while Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan spoke as special guests with RUEC President Raihana Malique Sejuti in the chair.
 
Prof Muhammad Kaikobad from BRAC University spoke as a keynote speaker in the event.
 
Prof Saleh Naquib said this type of international meeting serves as a platform for advancing knowledge and fostering innovation across diverse 
disciplines, driving progress and solutions for global challenges. 
 
It will also bring together global experts, researchers and scholars to network, share experiences and build collaborative projects in the pursuit of academic excellence and shared understanding.
 
He said the conference will contribute a lot towards generating actionable insights and promoting impactful research that contributes to building more inclusive, resilient and just societies, particularly in Bangladesh and as well as the Globe. 
 
Besides, it will help provide opportunities for participants to present original research, engage in academic dialogues, and share practical 
experiences to inform policy and societal change. 

In his remarks, Prof Kaikobad attributed that the conference is intended to encourage interdisciplinary discussions and the convergence of ideas across various academic fields, including social sciences, arts, technology and life sciences for a broader impact.

Around 1,200 teachers, researchers, students and policy makers are taking part in the conference.
