DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Pakistan have moved closer to restoring direct air connectivity as the civil aviation authorities of both countries today held a fruitful meeting, expressing strong interest in resuming flights between Dhaka and Islamabad.
The discussion was held when visiting Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Nadir Shafi Dar paid a courtesy call on Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq at the CAAB headquarters in the capital.
During the meeting, both sides expressed optimism that the resumption of direct flights would enhance trade, tourism and people-to-people contact between the two countries.
They also emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of technology and expertise sharing, capacity building and mutual collaboration in the aviation sector.
Senior officials of CAAB and the CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were also present.
