BNP’s movement is for coming to power: Razzaque

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2021 (BSS) - Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque today said BNP has been trying to create anarchy in the country in the name of waging movement with various non-political issues.

"BNP has no ground under its feet . . . they wants to come to power using religion and with the help of fanatics but they must keep it in mind that they should go to the people to win their heart for going to power," he said while speaking at a discussion marking the Dr Milion Day.

Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) organised the discussion meeting in observance of the 31st death anniversary of Dr Shamsul Alam Khan Milon.

BMA president Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin chaired the meeting while Bangladesh Workers Party general secretary Fazle Hosain Badsha, MP, JaSad general secretary Shirin Akhter, MP, Awami League cultural affairs secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan, BMA secretary general Dr Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury and Dhaka Medical College principal Prof Titu Mia, among others, addressed it.

Abdur Razzaque said an elected democratic government is in the power. Those who do not believe in democracy are hatching conspiracy against the democratic government and want to come to power by undemocratic means including using religion, said Razzaque, also presidium member of Awami League.

Fanaticism is a threat to democracy, he said, adding that the people of this part of the world had to wage movement and sacrifice blood to establish democracy here.

He said democracy has been established here through a long struggle.

"We all have to raise voice to protect democracy . . . we have to remain alert so that the fanatic and anti-liberation forces can never come to power," he added.
