DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is working to appoint panel lawyers, including District Public Prosecutors (PPs), to handle cases in district courts across the country, including Dhaka and Chittagong.
“On February 11, the ACC issued a notification for the appointment of panel lawyers . . . After that the recruitment process of the panel lawyers continues,” said a spokesman the ACC, state-run anti-graft body.
He said ACC's District Public Prosecutors (PPs) and panel lawyers have already been appointed in the High Court, Dhaka Courts and the District Judge's Court of Chittagong as well.
The recruitment process is also on its final stages in several other divisional cities and other district judges’ courts and they would be able complete the whole process within the next few days, he added.
Talking to the BSS, ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Akhtarul Islam said district PPs and panel lawyers have already been appointed in various districts, including Dhaka and Chittagong.
The ACC's legal wing is looking after the overall issues related to the appointment of panel lawyers and there are 13 courts in Dhaka to handle the trial of cases lodged with the ACC, he added.
Of these, there are 10 in Dhaka (Special Judge Court-1 to Special Judge Court-10), Metropolitan Session Judge Court, Divisional Special Judge Court as well as District and Sessions Judge Court, according to ACC.
Apart from this, in every district courts outside Dhaka, District and Sessions Judges as the ex-officious to handle ACC cases as Senior Special Judges.
