CHATTOGRAM, Nov 25, 2021 (BSS) - Another 379 more Rohingyas reached Bhasan
Char from the city's Patenga Boat Club on Thursday under the supervision of
Bangladesh Navy.

  Earlier, they reached Patenga from Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya Balukhali camp and
left for Bhasan Char with the help of two naval ships around 10 am today
after an overnight stay at a temporary transit camp of BAF Shaheen College.

  Rear Admiral Mozammel Haque, Chattogram Region Commander of the Bangladesh
Navy said that there were various rumors about Bhasanchar. Confidence among
the Rohingyas has also returned after the departure of various organizations
including the United Nations and UNHCR.

  Now many are interested in going to Bhasanchar. About 1 lakh Rohingyas are
being kept in Bhasanchar, he said.

 The first group of 1,642 Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char on December 4, the
second batch of 1,804 on December 29, in 2020 and the 3rd batch of 1,778
Rohingyas on January 29, fourth batch of 1,464 Rohingyas on January 30 and
5th batch of 2,010 Rohingyas reached on Feb 15 and 1,021 reached on Feb 16
and 2,260 reached on March 3 and last group of 1,750 Rohingayas reached at
Bhasanchar under the supervision of the Bangladesh Navy on March 4, the
sources said.

  Rear Admiral Mozemmel Hoque, told reporters that another 379 more Rohingyas
reached Bhasan Char around 1.45 pm today. Before boarding the ship, the
Rohingyas were given tokens and keys of the allotted shelter homes after
various data entries, Hoque added.

   He said that the government has provided infrastructure of 120 cluster
villages on the 13,000-acres of char land at a cost of Taka 3,095 crore with
its own fund to accommodate more than one lakh Rohingya people.
