DHAKA, August 9, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day Robotics fest began today at Dhaka University with the aim to encourage technological creativity and foster interest in robotics among students of various academic levels.
The Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department of the university kicked off the festival at the university's Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building today.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr Mamun Ahmed inaugurated the fest as the chief guest.
He said, "The world is changing rapidly with the evolution of technology. There is no way to stay behind in coping with the advancing world."
Prof Mamun called on students to participate and involve themselves in innovative work while maintaining humanitarian perspectives for positive change.
Chairman of the Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department Dr Sejuti Rahman presided over the inaugural ceremony, while Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof Dr Upama Kabir delivered the special guest's address.
A total of 900 students in 200 groups from 50 institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, are participating in the fest by displaying their projects.
