Youth will lead a discrimination-free future Bangladesh - KU VC

KHULNA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University (KU) Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim has said the youth of Bangladesh will lead a discrimination free future Bangladesh.

“When inequality in the country reached its peak, the student community, like in 1971, came forward once again in 2024 to reclaim the essence of freedom.” he said.

The VC was addressing the award giving ceremony of an inter-school speech competition titled “July Revolution: The Roar of Youth for Democracy,” at Khulna District Shilpakala Academy auditorium here today.

The Vice-Chancellor said, strong voices of youths can build a powerful and responsible Bangladesh. The future Bangladesh free of discrimination will be built under their leadership, he said.

Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam presided over the event organized by the Khulna District Administration’s July Celebration Program Committee.

Ayman Ahad, convener of the program and an active member of the July Movement, delivered the welcome speech while the event was moderated by KU students Sumaiya Akter and Sharmin Sultana.

The program began with displaying a documentary on the July Revolution. Students from 10 schools in Khulna took part in the competition.

Saint Joseph’s School won first place, while Khulna Zilla School secured second, and Navy Anchorage School & College became third.
