DHAKA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 409 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.
"During the period, (of the 409) 72 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division while 72 in Chattogram division, 67 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 54 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 32 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 28 in Khulna division, 11 in Mymensingh division, 51 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Rangpur Division and four in Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 76 deaths while the disease inflicted 19,529.
The DGHS, however, said 530 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
