DHAKA, July 13, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today said hajj pilgrims did not face any sufferings at the airport this year due mainly to the strict instructions of the Chief Adviser (CA).
“Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus gave instructions to make the Hajj journey easier, safer and more convenient for pilgrims this year. He also warned of taking action if there were any lacks,” he said.
The religious affairs adviser made the remarks at a press conference held at the conference room of the religious affairs ministry at the Secretariat here.
As per the directives of the CA, he said nearly 87,000 Hajj pilgrims performed their hajj properly and returned to the country safely under the sole management and guidance of the concerned ministry instead of depending on a particular hajj agency.
The government has no business purpose in hajj management and to provide services to the Hajj pilgrims is the only duty of the government, he added.
“The Chief Adviser took regular information about Hajj pilgrims, even during their stay in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
“There was only instruction of the Chief Adviser that no hajj pilgrims would suffer and fall in any problem and we had worked in line of the CA’s instruction and got success,” he mentioned.
The hajj formalities ended one June 8 and the return flight started from June 10 and it ended on July 10.
All the committed services were ensured for the Hajj pilgrims who had been sent under government management as per the hajj package---the government hajj pilgrims were ensured services at their rented hotel from 7am to 12am at night by engaging a team including several officials.
Even the Hajj pilgrims got medical services through the medical center in Makkah and Madina and Bangladesh Plaza at Jeddah airport.
To make the Hajj performance easier and safe, the religious affairs adviser said the government appointed a guide for per 46 Hajj pilgrims and duties also were given to the government officials and employees at different important points in Mina and Arafa ground as a result, number of missing Hajj pilgrims was comparatively less during this year. A total of 892 Hajj pilgrims were missing this year but 891 were found at last.
