Week-long joint forces drive nets 345 crime suspects: ISPR

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army has been working with professionalism to maintain law and order in the current situation of the country. 

In continuation of this, from July 3, 2025 to July 10, 2025, several joint operations were conducted in various areas of the country including the capital by units under various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, said an ISPR press release here today.

In these joint operations, a total of 345 criminals, including identified terrorists, illegal arms dealers, smugglers, juvenile gang members, extortionists, illegal squatters, robbers, illegal sand miners, drug dealers and drug addicts, were arrested red-handed. 

A total of 19 illegal firearms, 9139 rounds of various types of ammunition, nine cocktail bombs, various narcotics, various types of domestic weapons used in terrorist activities, stolen goods, mobile phones and cash were recovered from the arrested criminals. 

The detainees have been handed over to the police station of the concerned area for necessary interrogation and legal proceedings.

Bangladesh Army is conducting regular patrols and security operations in various areas to ensure public safety across the country. In addition, as part of supporting the civil administration, the Army is directly involved in various public welfare activities including eviction of illegal squatters, operations against illegal sand miners. 

Such operations are being continued by the Bangladesh Army to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. The people are requested to provide information about any suspicious activities to the nearest army camp, it added.
