CJ reiterates commitment of establishing rule of law in post-July Uprising

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today reiterated his commitment to establish the rule of law in the post-July Uprising in Bangladesh.  
 
“We are committed to establish the rule of law in post-July 24 revolution in Bangladesh. The judiciary of Bangladesh is committed to providing the highest protection of human rights in the country,” he said.
 
The Chief Justice made the remarks when Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Ajit Singh today paid a courtesy call on him at his office here this afternoon.  
  
During the meeting, they recalled the historic bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Canada. 

The Chief Justice assured the full cooperation of the Bangladesh Supreme Court in enhancing the mutual relations between the judiciary of both countries.
 
The Canadian High Commissioner appreciated various recent initiatives taken by the Chief Justice of Bangladesh as part of the efforts to institutionalize the country's judiciary. 

He expressed hope that the strong leadership of the Chief Justice will play an important role in establishing good governance and ensuring justice in the country in the coming days. 

The Canadian envoy also informed the Chief Justice that his country is ready to provide all-out support in building a strong judiciary in Bangladesh.
