DHAKA July 10, 2025 (BSS) – Physical condition of the leading Lalon Sangeet exponent Farida Parveen who has been undergoing treatment at ICU of a Dhaka hospital, is little stable today compared to yesterday, said physicians.
Two special medical boards have been formed, one of 6 members at 1 pm today and two of 10 members at 10:30 pm on Wednesday at the Universal Medical College and Hospital for treating the legendary singer.
Dr. Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, managing director of the hospital, told BSS that physical condition of Farida Parveen, who has been suffering for various ailments including kidney disease for long, has improved somewhat compared to yesterday.
He said expert physicians from Bangladesh Medical University, National Institute Kidney Diseases and Urology and Universal Medical College and Hospital are in the medical boards formed for treating Farida.
She is suffering from various diseases including pneumonia, electrolyte imbalance, kidney problems, liver disease and diabetes.
Farida Parveen is a unique name in the folk music arena of Bangladesh. She was born on December 31, 1954 in Natore and grew up in Kushtia. She has been especially appreciated in the country and abroad for singing mystic poet Lalon’s songs.
