Nationwide youth idea competition on July-August uprising launched

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Marking the anniversary of the historic July-August 2024 mass uprising, the Local Government Division has launched a nationwide idea competition titled 'July Revolution in My Eyes (Amar Chokey July Biplab)', aimed at engaging young people in reflecting on this pivotal moment in Bangladesh's democratic journey.

Youth from all districts are encouraged to participate by submitting creative and socially impactful ideas inspired by the spirit of the 2024 uprising. 

The deadline for submissions is July 10, 2025 and entries can be submitted either online or via email to the District Council Office of each participant's respective district.

The competition is open to young people aged 15 to 30, including members of youth clubs, debate societies, scout and rover groups, cultural organizations as well as students from secondary schools, higher secondary institutions and universities. Participants may enter as part of a team.

Suggested formats and themes for submissions include: Deyal Chittra, street plays or stage performances, exhibitions or documentaries, public awareness campaigns, primary health or nutrition initiatives, entrepreneurship fairs, local art exhibitions, skill-based competitions, zero-waste campaigns and clean or green school initiatives.

Participants are also encouraged to propose original ideas that creatively reflect the values and impact of the July Uprising.
