Under the initiative, the government will collect ground level real information, including the quality of education of students from grade 3 to grade 5 of primary schools, talent development, school attendance, environment around the school and teaching methods.

Later, by reviewing the information collected through the 'Assessment Tools', practical initiatives will be taken to further strengthen the quality and foundation of primary education in the future.

At the district level, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), at the upazila level, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), and at the divisional level, the Divisional Commissioners will supervise the activities of this system in primary schools in their respective affiliated areas, he added.

He said that field-level education officers will be deployed to improve the quality of education of lagging students by reviewing the marginal data through assessment tools.

The government has taken a detailed plan in this regard, he added.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a letter signed by Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Director (Policy and Operations) of the Directorate of Primary Education, stated that data collection work will be started in primary schools through assessment tools.

The letter states that it is necessary to determine the learning status of students from grade 3 to grade 5 in Bengali, Mathematics and English of government primary schools through the assessment tools prepared by the Directorate of Primary Education.

It is also essential to improve the learning status by following the subject-based work methods and work plans for providing tone-based teaching.

Various work plans have also been adopted through the assessment tools prepared to improve the status of relatively backward students.

Regarding the work plan, the Directorate of Primary Education said that based on the school-level assessment tool, the current status of every student from grade 3 to grade 5 in Bengali, English and mathematics will be verified from July 1 to August.

The headmaster and assistant teachers of the concerned school will complete the verification work.

In addition, an appropriate action plan has been taken to eliminate the lack of learning based on learning position.

The head teachers and assistant teachers of the concerned schools will implement it between July 16 and 23. At the same time, appropriate activities will be conducted to eliminate the lack of learning.

The head teachers and assistant teachers of the concerned schools will implement it between July 24 and August 31.

The quality of 25 percent students in any school will be re-assessed using the tools. Of these, the learning progress of 10 percent students will be verified. Assessment activities for one subject in one class will be conducted every working day from July 1 to July 15.

In schools with more students, an additional day of activities may be conducted. Other class activities will continue as usual during the assessment.

Md. Kamrul Hasan, Joint Secretary of the Directorate of Primary Education, said that the government is making efforts to improve the quality of primary education.

He expressed hope that through assessment tools, the quality of education of all students, including backward ones, will be improved.

"We have many good schools but also backward schools. We want to see the quality of education to improve in all schools. So, the government has this plan," he added.
