DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) – Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar has affirmed the government’s commitment to delivering accurate and error-free textbooks to students on January 1, 2026, correcting past mistakes and ensuring improved content quality across all grades.

Speaking at a special meeting on curriculum development and revision held today at the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) meeting room, Dr Abrar emphasized that the Ministry of Education has already undertaken necessary steps for printing the revised textbooks.

Referring to the textbooks distributed in 2025, the Education Adviser acknowledged the presence of spelling and grammatical errors, printing inconsistencies and factual gaps in textbooks.

To address these issues, 123 existing textbooks will thoroughly be revised, he said. 

Specialized expert panels — based both in Dhaka and in regional areas — have been tasked with the job to review the content, he added.

 The recommendations from these panels will then be verified, finalized and printed by the NCTB, he stated.

“Education is a tool to eliminate inequality,” Dr. Abrar said stating, “This is not a task for a few individuals — we need broad public involvement, especially from our teachers. Their considered opinions and intellectual contributions can significantly improve our education system”. 

He called for active participation of educators across the country, highlighting that collaborative input is essential for building a more effective and inclusive curriculum.
