CUMILLA, Nov 16, 2021, (BSS) - Advocate Afzal Khan, a valiant freedom fighter and former general secretary of Cumilla South District unit Awami League (AL), died of old-age complications at a hospital in Dhaka this afternoon.

   He was 82, family sources said.

  Anjum Sultana, daughter of Afzal Khan and a lawmaker for the reserved women's seat, told BSS.

   According to family sources, he had been suffering from old-age related complications for long.

   He left behind his wife, three sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

   The Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased will be held at 11am on Wednesday at Cumilla Town Hall, said Afzal Khan's son Masud Parvez Khan Imran.

  In a message of condolence, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Advocate Afzal Khan.

   The finance minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
