DHAKA, Nov 16, 2021 (BSS) – The Special Security Force Bill, 2021 was passed in parliament today incorporating the provision of providing security to family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and very important persons.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, who is also in charge of Prime Minister's Office in Parliament Affairs, today moved the bill to the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Placing the bill, Mozammel said a provision of formation of a special force has been incorporated in the bill.

Providing security to family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the President and the Prime Minister is the main responsibility of the force, he said.

Besides, specific provisions have been included in the bill for the appointment of the Director General of the special force, taking the assistance from other departments in discharging duties and other related issues, including framing of training rules.
