Biman introduces special worker fare on four more routes

Dhaka, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - Biman Bangladesh Airlines has expanded its special concessional airfare program, known as the 'worker fare,' to four additional Middle Eastern countries-United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar-in a bid to ease overseas travel for Bangladeshi migrant workers.

The national flag carrier is already operating this facility under reservation booking designator (RBD) "T" for outbound flights to Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

With the addition of these new routes, Biman aims to further strengthen support for expatriate workers, who are widely regarded as "remittance fighters" for their vital contribution to the national economy.

According to a press release issued by Biman today, the special fare is applicable only for one-way outbound tickets and will remain valid until December 31, 2025.

"This initiative is aimed at ensuring affordable and uninterrupted air travel for our remittance fighters, who play a crucial role in sustaining Bangladesh's economy," the airline said.

Biman officials reaffirmed the airline's continued commitment to serving expatriate workers by offering cost-effective, safe, and convenient travel options.

"In recognition of their contributions, Biman will continue to prioritize the needs of Bangladeshi workers abroad in the coming years," the statement added.

Remittances from overseas workers remain a cornerstone of Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves, with millions of nationals being employed across the Gulf and Southeast Asian regions.
