KHULNA, June 11, 2025 (BSS)- Newly constituted Managing Committee of the Kapilmuni College, a reputed educational institution of Khulna, has chalked out a master plan for overall physical and academic development of the college.
The new managing committee in its first meeting with Chairman Anwar Aldin in the chair has adopted the plan for development of the institution, founded in 1967 in Khulna's Paikgachha, a press release of the college said.
The development plans include strengthening the financial capacity of the college, opening master degree course of the Political Science Department and honours course for Social Science Department.
Anwar Aldin, also chairman of Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Joint Editor of Dainik Ittefaq and a specialist examiner of Bangladesh Public Service Commission, said during the 15 years rule of ousted Awami League government the college has experienced reckless looting and corruption instead of any development.
Academic atmosphere of the college has been destroyed and the financial condition of college has been made scrapped. All facilities including the girls' common room, laboratory, hostel, class room, internal roads are now in dilapidated condition, he said.
In this dire situation, a detailed plan was taken to strengthen the financial foundation of the college and elevate it as the best college in South Khulna, he said.
The meeting has established a Taka one crore 'Kapilmuni College Welfare Fund' with journalist and human rights activist SM Mustafizur Rahman Parvez as the coordinator. A strong advisory committee has also been formed in this regard.
Principal of the college and Member Secretary of the managing committee Habibullah Bahar conducted the meeting while Paikgachha BNP convener Dr. Abdul Majid, members of the college managing committee Tahiduzzaman Mukul, Sheikh Deen Mahmud, Sabrina Azmi Swarna, Sheikh Iqbal Hossain, Professor Md. Shafiul Azam, Sharmin Sultana Akram Joaddar, Shirin Sultana, Abdul Quddus, journalists Parvez Mohammad, GM Aminul Islam, Press Club convener HM Shafiul Islam Eskender Mirza, student leaders Deben Ghosh, Abu Huraira Badsha and Zahid Hossain were present.
The meeting also focused on various development activities of the institution including the college welfare fund and construction of the college gate and surrounding walls.
