DHAKA, June 5, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 384 people have been arrested in the past week in a nationwide operation conducted by joint forces to control law and order in the country.
Bangladesh Army has been working with professionalism across the country to maintain law and order in the ongoing situation in the country, said an ISPR release here today.
In continuation of this, from May 29 to June 5, several joint operations were conducted in various areas of the country, including the capital, by units under different infantry divisions and independent brigades of Bangladesh Army in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
In these joint operations, a total of 384 persons, including identified terrorists, illegal arms dealers, smugglers, juvenile gang members, extortionists, drug dealers and drug addicts were arrested, it added.
Besides, seven illegal firearms, three different types of ammunition, three cocktail bombs, six cartridges, various narcotics, various types of locally-made weapons used in terrorist activities, motorcycles, stolen mobile phones and cash were recovered from the arrested criminals.
The detainees have been handed over to the police stations in the relevant areas for necessary interrogation and legal proceedings.
Bangladesh Army is conducting regular patrols and security activities in different areas to ensure public safety across the country. In addition, they are ensuring round-the-clock surveillance, security and observation at temporary livestock markets set up in various places across the country on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.
The army is also conducting special patrols to ensure smooth traffic movement on the roads and prevent ticket black marketing to facilitate the Eid journey.
