DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - Janata Bank Officers' Welfare Association organized a commemorative program marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, highlighting his life, works and values and lasting legacy in the nation’s history.
Speaking as the chief guest, Janata Bank Chairman recalled Ziaur Rahman as a selfless, hardworking and humble leader who lived a simple life despite holding the highest office in the country.
“President Ziaur Rahman was a peaceful man. He never got angry," said Fazlur Rahman, former Private Secretary of Ziaur Rahman.
He emphasized that embracing the ideals of the late President in one’s professional life would be a true tribute to his memory.
“If we can dedicate ourselves sincerely to our duties, guided by his principles, the soul of Shaheed Zia will truly find peace,” he added.
Janata Bank Managing Director and CEO Mujibur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director Golam Mortuza, senior executive Ashraf Hossain and other officials of the Janata Bank Officers' Association also addressed the event.
The speakers reflected on the remarkable contributions of Ziaur Rahman to the nation and pledged to uphold his ideals of honesty, discipline and national service.
