COX’S BAZAR, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Ministry Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today distributed cheques among five injured persons of 2024 July Uprising at Pekua upazila of the district.
The adviser distributed the cheques at Pekua Upazila Parishad auditorium. Every injured person was given a cheque for Taka one lakh at the programme.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Mohammad Mofidur Rahman, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, and Pekua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Moinul Hossain, among others, were present at the function.
Later, the adviser visited the house of Shaheed Wasim of the upazila, who was killed during the July uprising.
Farooki said the main purpose of establishing the July Museum is to preserve the memories of the martyrs and all the injustices committed by the fascist government. The next generation can know misdeeds of the fascist government through the museum, he added.
The adviser is visiting the homes of martyrs to collect souvenirs for the ‘July Revolution Memorial Museum’.
