DHAKA, May 24, 2025 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam, Bir Protik, and Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum today paid rich tribute to Shaheed Md Hasan, a fighter of July Uprising, by placing floral wreaths on the coffin.

Earlier, the body of Shaheed Md Hasan reached Dhaka Airport by a flight of Bangladesh Biman from Thailand.

Liberation War Affairs Secretary Israt Chowdhury, July Mass Uprising Directorate Director General Md Mashiur Rahman, officials of Health Ministry and family members of Shaheed Md Hasan, among others, were present there.

Md Hasan was critically injured on August 5, 2024, during the July Mass Uprising in Chattogram. He was initially admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. Later, he was taken to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, and subsequently to Payathai Phaholyothin Hospital in the same city for advanced treatment.

Hasan passed away at the hospital at 11:10pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment. He was 25.

As per his mother's wish, Hasan will be laid to rest in the Subarnachar area of Noakhali district. The Noakhali district administration has made all necessary arrangements for his burial under the supervision of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
