DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Vice-President of Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) and wife of BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, joined as the chief guest an award distribution ceremony of the Virtual Science Fair at the ZRF office here today. 

Addressing the children and teenagers as well as young scientists at the event, Dr. Zubaida said, "I congratulate each contestant on their innovative science projects." 

She exchanged views with the members of the ZRF Board of Directors Committee and advisors.

A video documentary on the various activities of ZRF from its inception to the present was shown at the event.

Zubaida Rahman said talent, perseverance and self-reliance of the young scientists are truly extraordinary and have impressed all. 

ZRF Executive Director Professor Dr. Farhad Halim Doner chaired the event, which was moderated by Director (Program) Dr. Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah.

ZRF Acting Executive Director Professor Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, Professor Dr. A. F. M. Yusuf Haider, convener of the virtual science fair, Special Coordinator of the virtual science fair Dr. SM Sohag Awal also spoke. 

Virtual Science Fair has been organized for the last four years, mainly aiming at scientific innovation and inspiring science practice among children and adolescents and the new generation.

This virtual science fair of ZRF is the brainchild of Dr. Zubaida Rahman. Prizes (laptops) and certificates were distributed among the 17 winners of the fair.

In order to preserve the memory of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the Ziaur Rahman Foundation was established on October 18, 1999.
