KHULNA, May 17(BSS) - Home Affairs Adviser Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said that if Bangladesh can be freed from drugs and corruption, the country will significantly move towards development.
He made this remark while inaugurating a newly constructed boat workshop at the Bangladesh Coast Guard's Mongla Base today (Saturday) afternoon.
The formal operations of the boat workshop began with the unveiling of a nameplate.
The adviser also expressed concern about drug trafficking from India into Bangladesh and commented on the recent murders of three individuals, including a student, in Dhaka.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs' (Public Security Division), Md. Jasim Uddin Khan, Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mohammad Ziaul Haque, Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui and senior officials from various ministries, Bangladesh Navy, Naval Police, Forest Department and Mongla Port Authority were present at the event.
