DHAKA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today said they have taken an initiative to introduce a helpline in the courts of 64 districts and eight metropolitan areas to ensure accessibility to the justice seekers to get due services.
"To ensure accessibility to all the citizens to the judicial services and ensure free flow of information regarding the trial, initiatives have been taken to introduce a helpline in the court of 64 districts and eight metropolitans," he said.
The Chief Justice was addressing as the chief guest at a programme organized by the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee at the Supreme Court auditorium here.
The helpline will help reduce the impediments of all the citizens in getting justices by removing irregularities in the lower courts and tribunals, he said.
Immediately after the programme, the Supreme Court (SC) issued a circular asking all the subordinate courts in 64 districts and eight metropolitan areas to introduce the helpline.
Judge of the SC's Appellate Division Judge Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam, Advocate Md Asaduzzaman, Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, National Legal Aid Services Organization Director Syed Azad Subhani and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, spoke on the occasion.
