Supradip urges Buddhists to be united for peace

RANGAMATI, May 10, 2025 (BSS)- Adviser of the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Supradip Chakma has urged the members of Buddhist community to be united with the bond of peace and harmony to create a social welfare society.

“I am always sincere to work devotedly for welfare and development of the Buddhist community,” he said while addressing the devotees marking this year’s Buddha Purnima at Tabalchhari Ananda Bihar Multipurpose Hall here today.
Life of the people, work, conscious, death and rebirth- all are natural. Buddhism focuses on all aspects of life- sorrow, illness, grief, suffering, treatment and path of overcoming those through morality, meditation and wisdom.

He urged all to be devoted in good works saying every individual should involve in good work keeping them away from misdeeds.

The adviser along with his wife Nandita Chakma joined the prayers for the welfare, happiness, peace and prosperity of all people including the Buddhists.

Chakma Raja Barrister Raja Debashish Ray inaugurated the programme while president of the Rangamati Baishakhi Purnima Udjapon Parishad Bhadanta Shraddhalangkar Mahathero was in the chair. 
 
Among others, Deputy Sangharaj of Parbatta Vikkhu Sangha Bangladesh Bhadanta Progyananada Mahathero, Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajol Talukder, former deputy minister Moni Swapan Dewan and retired joint secretary Krishna Chandra, spoke among others, on the occasion.
