DHAKA, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) today signed an agreement with Pubali Bank, Jamuna Bank, Dutch Bangla Bank and Nagad to use Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system on Padma Bridge.
Secretary of the Bridge Division and Executive Director of BBA Mohammad Abdur Rouf witnessed the agreement signing ceremony as the chief guest.
The agreement signing ceremony was held at the conference room of the bridge division.
Rouf said that Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, gave instructions to make public life comfortable.
In line of his instructions, initiatives have been taken to launch ETC to facilitate Padma Bridge crossing in the fastest time, he said.
The secretary said with the signing of this deal vehicle will be able to move smoothly on the highway and save time. Vehicles will also use technology-based crossing of the bridges including the Padma, Jamuna and Karnaphuli Tunnels, he added.
Director and Joint Secretary Khandaker Nurul Haque on behalf of BBA and Deputy General Manager Md Rabiul Alam on behalf of Pubali Bank, Managing Director Mirza Iliaz Uddin Ahmed on behalf of Jamuna Bank, Senior Executive Vice President Abdullah Al Masud on behalf of Dutch Bangla Bank and Chief Strategy Officer Md Muiz Tasneem on behalf of Nagad signed the agreement respectively.
Among others, senior officials of Bridges Division, BBA and officials of the concerned banks were present at the event.
