DHAKA, April 30, 2025(BSS) - Jhenaidah Cadet College has brought immense pride to Bangladesh by securing the first prize in the 9th grade category at the prestigious 2024 'Living in a Healthy Space' Design Competition organized by the National Space Society (NSS) of the United States of America.

According to an ISPR release, their project titled "Stellar Sanctuaries: Orchestrating Effervescent Health with Celestial Garden," was selected from among hundreds of international submissions for its innovative approach to food security, resource optimization and sustainable waste management in extraterrestrial environments.

The team members of the college - cadets Aryan Hussain Sahir, Iftekhar Mahmud Asif, Rafan Mashrur Haque, Tashrif Hasan, SK Ahnaf Haque and Zeesan Mahmud - worked relentlessly over the past year to develop their concept.

Their creative thinking and scientific acumen have been duly recognized on a global platform, making the entire nation proud. Under the patronage of the college's alumni association, Jhenaidah Ex-cadet Association (JEXCA), the newly established robotics lab "Automatos 27" served as a source of inspiration for the cadets to participate in this prestigious competition.

The competition drew a total of 9,028 participants from 1,641 institutions across 11 countries, competing in seven major categories and 21 sub-categories. Designed to encourage students worldwide, the challenge focused on crafting sustainable health and wellness solutions for future human settlements in space including orbital habitats and lunar or Martian colonies, the release said.

The official results are available at: https://nss.org/healthy-space-competition-results, the release added.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the potential of Bangladesh's youth as future scientists, innovators, and explorers. Let us all celebrate the success of these young cadets who have set a shining example on the global stage, the ISPR release further added.
