DHAKA, Oct 27, 2021 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today expressed deep 
shock and sorrow at the death of Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, Awami League 
(AL) advisory council member and former president of Supreme Court Bar 
Association.

   In a condolence message, the President recalled Baset Majumder's 
contribution with respect to establishing the rule of law in the country and 
providing legal assistance to the litigants.

  "Baset Majumdar's death is an irreparable loss to the country's legal 
arena. At his death, the country lost a skilled lawyer," he mentioned.

  President Hamid added that his contribution would be remembered for long.

  The head of the state prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul and 
conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

   Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, former vice-chairman of Bangladesh Bar 
Council, died of old-age complications in the city's United Hospital on 
Wednesday morning at the age of 83
