President leaves London for home

  DHAKA, Oct 25, 2021 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid left London for home today wrapping up his 15-day visit to Germany and the United Kingdom (UK) for health checkup and eye treatmen

  "A VVIP flight (BG 202) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited carrying the President and his entourage members left Heathrow Airport at 5.50pm (London time)," Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, Minister (Press) at the High Commission of Bangladesh in London, told BSS.

  Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneen and senior officials of Bangladesh Mission in London saw the President off at the airport, the minister (press) added.

  Meanwhile, President's deputy press secretary Munshi Jalal Uddin told BSS that the aircraft is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport tomorrow morning.

  The head of the state on October 9 left Dhaka for Berlin, the capital of Germany, and from there he reached London from Berlin on October 19.

  The 77-year-old President Hamid has been suffering from Glaucoma for long.

  He used to have his health checkup in London and Germany while he was the Speaker in the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament).
