DHAKA, Oct 22, 2021 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan

Police (DMP) in anti-drug drives have arrested 35 persons for consuming and
selling drugs in the city.

     According to a DMP statement issued here today, as part of the campaign,
police conducted raids in different areas under various police stations and
detained 35 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6 am
on October 21, 2021 to 6 am today.

     During the drives, police also seized 87 grams of heroin, 7.645
kilograms and 40 puria (small packet) of cannabis, 414 pieces of yaba
tablets, four litres of local liquor and 147 bottles of phensidyl, it said.

     Police filed 29 cases against the arrestees in these connections with
police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
