DHAKA, June 30, 2021 (BSS)-Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Maqbool Hossain today said there is no alternative to implementing the concept of 'Digital Bangladesh' in all social, economic and humanitarian fields to reach the desired goal of the country as well as the nation.

"People will be able to get benefits from digital system more widely if the media people can promote the digital concept to all peoples through mass media," he told a virtual view-exchange-meeting with the top media personalities at the Bangladesh Secretariat here today.

In this regard, the secretary highly appreciated the ongoing role of the country's media with a call to increase the efforts of media workers in the days to come.

Press Information Department (PID) and a2i organized the discussion on ‘Digital Bangladesh’ with the Principal Information Officer (PIO) Surath Kumar Sarkar in the chair. Former Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar spoke as the keynote speaker and a2i Project Director Abdul Mannan and Joint-Project Director Dr Dewan Md Humayun Kabir took part in the discussion as panel speakers.

The proper use and flow of information is very conducive to keep the progress of the country and society viable, Maqbool Hossain added.

He said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is determined to work for flourishing as well as developing the media as much as it is committed to disseminating government’s development information to the masses.
