CUMILLA, Nov 30, 2024 (BSS) – Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today said that the mandate of the people of Bangladesh will be the only way to come to power.
"The mandate of the people will be the only way to come to power. It seems that a deep-rooted idea has been established among the political parties that none can come to power in Bangladesh without India's blessings. I would like to remind you that India had the most blessings on the autocratic Hasina, but the consequences of her are visible right now," he said.
Asif, also youth and sports adviser, came up with the remarks while speaking at a mass reception, organized by the local people of Muradnagar Upazila on Muradnagar D.R. Government Pilot High School premises as the chief guest, according to a press release.
He urged all to remain united to thwart all kinds of internal and Indian conspiracies.
He said, "We have achieved our second independence through the July mass uprising in exchange of blood of thousands of warriors. We will have to work together to repay the sacrifices of the martyrs."
The adviser also said during the period of the fallen dictator Hasina, it was stated that there should be no division in the name of 'Cumilla' and such decision was made due to anger.
In this context, he further said, "We will discuss at the highest level of the government to make Cumilla as an administrative division for the purpose of administrative decentralization and if there is a division, it will be named 'Cumilla'."
