CUMILLA, Oct 14, 2021 (BSS) - The district administration of Cumilla today formed a three-member committee to investigate into the alleged demeaning of the Holy Quran coinciding with the Hindu religious festival of Durga Puja.

  Additional district magistrate Md. Saidul Arefin heads the committee with its members being additional police superintendent M Tanvir Ahmed and Adarsha Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zakia Afrin are two other members.

  The committee has been asked to report on the matter within three days.

   The government has deployed troopers of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in important areas of the district.
