DHAKA, Oct 10, 2021(BSS) - Renowned journalist, playwright and poet Rafiqul Haque, popularly known as 'Dadubhai', has passed away this morning.  He was 85.

Rafiqul, who had been suffering from old-age complications for a long, breathed his last at his residence in the capital around 11 am today, said his family sources.

He was the feature editor of the daily Jugantor. He returned to workplace after surviving Covid-19 last year. However, he was completely bedridden for the past six months.

In a condolence message, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Kuddus Afrad and Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Tapu expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Dadu Bhai. 

They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the members of his bereaved family.
