RAJSHAHI, Sept 25, 2021 (BSS) - Fifty more people tested positive for Covid-19 in five districts of the division on Friday, taking the caseload to 98,009 since the pandemic began in March last year.
The new daily infection figure is a little-bit rising trend compared to the previous day's 45, while on last Sunday the infection number was 30, which was the lowest-ever since the second wave of the pandemic hit the country around six months back, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health, said.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 93,816 in the division after another 36 patients were discharged from the hospitals on the same day.
The death toll reached 1,660, including 683 in Bogura, 312 in Rajshahi with 188 in its city, and 172 in Natore, as no fresh case of fatality was reported during the period, Dr Talukder added.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 22,606 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 18,927 have been released.
Meanwhile, 17 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 25 others were released from isolation during the same time.
Of the 50 new cases, 19 were detected in Bogura, followed by 12 in Chapainawabganj, 10 in Rajshahi city, eight in Sirajganj and one in Naogaon districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 27,775 in Rajshahi, including 22,376 in city, 5,621 in Chapainawabganj, 6,368 in Naogaon, 8,306 in Natore, 4,585 in Joypurhat, 21,459 in Bogura, 11,285 in Sirajganj and 12,610 in Pabna.
A total of 1,12,474 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 1,09,532 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their 14-day quarantine.
