BNP isn't able to thwart polls through anarchy: Nanak

DHAKA, Dec 22, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said the BNP will not be able to stop the upcoming general election through carrying out subversive activities, including sneak attack, across the country.

"BNP could not stop election by sneak attack," he said during an election campaign at Ward-33 in the city.

He said strict actions will be taken if BNP tries to create a chaotic situation over the upcoming election slated to be held on January 7, 2024.

"Countrymen want an election, so the upcoming general election will be held in time in line with the constitution," he said.

He hoped that the people will cast their votes in favour of Awami League's electoral symbol 'boat'.

He also said the AL will have to be elected to continue the development pace of the country.

Dhaka city north unit of AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, organizing secretary Azijul Haque Rana and councilor of Ward-33 Asif Ahmed, among others, were present.
