DHAKA, Dec 7, 2023 (BSS) –Members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU), a specialised unit of Bangladesh Police, in separate drives in different places of the country have arrested three members of the banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam.

The arrested were identified as Md. Ruhul Amin, 19, son of Morshed Ali from Sarkarpara village under Parbotipur police station of Dinajpur district, Md. Riazul Islam, 23, son of Md. Raju Ahmed from Gangdaria village under Monirampur police station of Jashore district and fugitive accused Ariful Islam Rahat, 31, son of Md. Fayaz Ali from Avanghi village under Beanibazar Police Station of Sylhet district.

Acting on a tip-off, separate teams of ATU police conducted separate rides in different places of Gazipur, Jashore and city's Pastogola area and arrested them, said an ATU press release.

Necessary legal action has been taken against the arrested accused, police officials said.
