DHAKA, Dec 2, 2023 (BSS) - Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN), National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Dhaka Customs authority have arrested four passengers with 6.956 kilograms (kgs) of gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

The arrested were Md Ali Hossain, Jasim Uddin, 47, Litu Miah, 39, and Mohammad Jummon Khan.

Confirming the matter to BSS, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Airport Armed Police Battalion Mohammad Ziaul Haque today said in separate drives they seized the gold in the early hours of today and yesterday midnight.

Passenger Md Ali arrived from Dubai on board US Bangla Airlines at 5 am on Saturday and passengers Jasim, Litu and Jummon landed in Dhaka on board Emirates Airlines at 11 pm yesterday, he said.

They were handed over the airport police station.
