DHAKA, Dec 1, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim today said if he gets elected, he would turn the parliamentary constituency of Dhaka-8 into a smart area.

"A festive mood is prevailing across the country marking the upcoming national polls. We would go to people's doorsteps from December 18 as per electoral code of conduct and seek their vote and blessings for Boat," he said while talking to newsmen after Jumma prayers at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

Nasim, Awami League backed candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency, further said the people of the country want election. They are taking part in the festivity of election across the country and a vested quarter is trying to foil this festivity by calling hartal and blockade, he added.

"BNP is not taking part in the election as they have no support of the people at all. They would not be able to frustrate the election in anyway. People know about their misdeeds and that's why they have rejected BNP," Nasim also said.

After the Jumma prayers, Nasim exchanged greetings with the devotees and later went to High Court Majar and offered Fateha there.
